FORT HOOD, Texas — A soldier from Arizona was killed at Fort Hood after becoming pinned between two Bradley fighting vehicles, an official said Thursday.

Staff Sgt. Jon Locascio, 34, died Wednesday morning after the accident that happened while soldiers were trying to move the vehicles onto railroad cars, said Lt. Col. Steve Stover, a 4th Infantry Division spokesman.

The vehicles are to be transported to the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, Calif., where some troops also are going for training.

Locascio was a squad leader with Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, which is to deploy to Iraq later this year. He had been at Fort Hood since July after being stationed in Korea.

Locascio, who joined the Army in 1994, is survived by a wife and two children. His hometown was not immediately available.
