FORT BRAGG, N.C. More than 103 Green Berets will graduate and a Son Tay raider will be honored in a ceremony here.

The new Green Berets will graduate Thursday from the 249th Special Forces Qualification Course and join the five active duty and two National Guard Special Forces groups.

On Wednesday, retired Maj. George W. Petrie became a "distinguished member of the regiment." A veteran of multiple deployments to Vietnam, Petrie participated in the Son Tay Raid, an attempt to rescue 75 Americans prisoners Nov. 21, 1970. He also helped plan the evacuation of Saigon and was on one of the last helicopters out.
