13 O-5s and O-6s chosen for service colleges

Thirteen health services colonels and lieutenant colonels have been slated for senior service college attendance and equivalent SSC-level assignments during academic year 2011-12.

The officers were selected for the professional military education programs by the annual special branches SSC board that met last spring in Alexandria, Va.

Deferred officers and alternates from the fiscal 2010 SSC board will be sent invitations to enroll in the two-year Army War College Distance Education Course in early March.

The deadline for enrolling is March 22.
