2-star nomination list released

President Obama has nominated 28 brigadier generals to be promoted to major general, the Defense Department announced Monday.

Here are their names and current duty positions:

• Brig. Gen. Robert P. Ashley Jr. has been nominated for major general. Ashley is the chief of staff, intelligence, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

• Brig. Gen. Jeffrey L. Bailey has been nominated for major general. Bailey is the deputy commanding general (support), 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Carson, Colo.

• Brig. Gen. Jeffrey N. Colt has been nominated for major general. Colt is the deputy commanding general (support), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

• Brig. Gen. Kenneth R. Dahl has been nominated for major general. Dahl is the deputy commanding general (support), 10th Mountain Division (Light), Fort Drum, N.Y.

• Brig. Gen. Gordon B. Davis Jr., has been nominated for major general. Davis is the deputy commander, Regional Command-East, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

• Brig. Gen. Joseph P. DiSalvo has been nominated for major general. DiSalvo is the deputy commanding general, III Corps and Fort Hood, Fort Hood, Texas.

• Brig. Gen. Robert M. Dyess Jr., has been nominated for major general. Dyess is the director, Requirements Integration Directorate, Army Capabilities Integration Center, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Eustis, Va.

• Brig. Gen. Karen E. Dyson has been nominated for major general. Dyson is the director, business operations, Office of Business Transformation, Office of The Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C.

• Brig. Gen. Paul E. Funk II has been nominated for major general. Funk is the deputy commanding general (maneuver), 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, Kan.

• Brig. Gen. Harold J. Greene has been nominated for major general. Greene is the program executive officer, intelligence, electronic warfare, and sensors, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

• Brig. Gen. William C. Hix has been nominated for major general. Hix is the director, future operations, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

• Brig. Gen. Stephen R. Lyons has been nominated for major general. Lyons is the director for logistics operations, readiness, force integration and strategy (G-4/3/5/7), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

• Brig. Gen. Herbert R. McMaster Jr. has been nominated for major general. McMaster is the commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force - Shafafiyat, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

• Brig. Gen. John M. Murray has been nominated for major general. Murray is the assistant deputy director for joint training, J-7, The Joint Staff, Suffolk, Va.

• Brig. Gen. Richard P. Mustion has been nominated for major general. Mustion is the director, military personnel management, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

• Brig. Gen. Michael K. Nagata has been nominated for major general. Nagata is the deputy director for special operations, J-37, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

• Brig. Gen. Bryan R. Owens has been nominated for major general. Owens most recently served as deputy commanding general, U.S. Division-South, Operation New Dawn, Iraq.

• Brig. Gen. James F. Pasquarette has been nominated for major general. Pasquarette is the director of comprehensive soldier fitness, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

• Brig. Gen. Lawarren V. Patterson has been nominated for major general. Patterson is the commanding general, 7th Signal Command (Theater), Fort Gordon, Ga.

• Brig. Gen. Aundre F. Piggee has been nominated for major general. Piggee is the commanding general, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.

• Brig. Gen. Ross E. Ridge has been nominated for major general. Ridge is the director, Task Force 2010, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

• Brig. Gen. John G. Rossi has been nominated for major general. Rossi is the commanding general, 32d Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas.

• Brig. Gen. Thomas C. Seamands has been nominated for major general. Seamands is the deputy chief of staff, G-1, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.

• Brig. Gen. Michael H. Shields has been nominated for major general. Shields is the deputy director, Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, Arlington, Va.

• Brig. Gen. Leslie C. Smith has been nominated for major general. Smith is the commanding general, 20th Support Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

• Brig. Gen. John Uberti has been nominated for major general. Uberti is the deputy commanding general/chief of staff, Installation Management Command, San Antonio, Texas.

• Brig. Gen. Bryan G. Watson has been nominated for major general. Watson is the director, Joint Engineering Directorate, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

• Brig. Gen. Darrell K. Williams has been nominated for major general. Williams is the commander, Defense Logistics Agency, Land and Maritime, Columbus, Ohio.
