KINGSTON, N.Y. — A West Point graduate and veteran of the Iraq war is taking over command of a New York Army National Guard military police unit based in the Hudson Valley.
A change-of-command ceremony is being held at noon Sunday at the state armory in Kingston, where Lt. Col. Craig Maceri of Quakertown, Pa., will take command of the 104th Military Police Battalion.
Maceri is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy. He's an Army Ranger who served with the 104th during its deployment to Iraq in 2007. In civilian life he's an executive with a company in Pennsylvania.
Maceri is taking over for Lt. Col. David Gagnon of Stone Ridge, who will move on to a position with the National Guard's 42nd Infantry Division.
