The Army plans to promote 4,127 Regular Army soldiers to the NCO ranks on Nov. 1, including 3,524 advancements to sergeant and staff sergeant.
The monthly forecast reflected in sequence numbers and cutoff scores was released by the Human Resources Command Monday, a little later than normal because of administrative problems related to promotion point calculations.
The forecast authorizes 34 promotions to sergeant major, which will reduce the June 2012 list to 169 names.
There will be 192 advancements to master sergeant, and 377 to sergeant first class.
The promotions will reduce the 2011 E-8 list to 956 names, and the 2012 E7 roster to 2,263 names
A new master sergeant list containing the names of soldiers recommended for promotion by a board that convened Oct. 15 is pending approval and release.
November cutoff scores authorize 1,272 promotions to staff sergeant, and 2,252 to sergeant.
Soldiers who pin-on Nov. 1 are among cohorts of 15,527 promotable sergeants, and 14,949 promotable specialists on the service-wide selection lists for these ranks.
