A board that met at Recruiting Command headquarters in November selected 120 enlisted troops for enrollment in the Army Warrant Officer Candidate Course.
Candidates who successfully complete the six-week course at Fort Rucker, Ala., will be conditionally appointed as Army warrant officers, grade WO1.
The appointments become permanent upon completion of specialty training and certification at a branch service school.
In applying for the warrant officer accessions program, candidates selected by the November board requested appointment in 22 specialties, among them Special Forces, air and missile defense, electronic warfare, military intelligence, ordnance and food service.
The November board did not consider any applications for military occupational specialty 153A, for entry-level helicopter pilots. That is because the Army is transitioning to a new flight aptitude test for aspiring pilots.
The Selection Instrument for Flight Training will be implemented Jan. 1 and will be a requirement for 153A applicants considered by the Warrant Officer Candidate Course board that meets Jan. 14-18.
Although the application deadline for the January board was Nov. 16, the application deadline for the board that meets March 11-15 is Jan. 18.
