ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A Delta Junction man's vehicle was rear-ended twice Tuesday, including by an armored Army vehicle.
KTUU reports 51-year-old Steven Booth escaped with only minor injuries in the crash at the intersection of the Richardson Highway and Jack Warren Road.
Alaska State Troopers say he was southbound on the highway when he slowed to make a left turn. That's when a U.S. Army Stryker personnel carrier carrying five soldiers hit his van from behind. The eight-wheeled, 18-ton Fort Wainwright vehicle was en route to the Donnelly Training Area.
The force of the crash spun Booth's van into the path of an oncoming pickup, which also rear-ended the vehicle.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says the driver of the Stryker vehicle, 21-year-old Joshua Anderson, was ticketed for speeding.
