ILE deadline for officers approaches

Basic-branch officers in year group 2004 who want to compete for attendance at a 10-month Intermediate Level Education course have until Feb. 22 to submit their preferences to the Human Resources Command.

Year group 2004 captains were in the primary zone of consideration for the Army Competitive Category major selection board that met last fall.

Officers recommended for promotion by that board will be eligible for ILE attendance, either a 10-month course conducted at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and elsewhere, or one of the 14-week satellite courses conducted at several other Army posts.

A promotion nomination list generated by the O-4 board, along with an ILE slating list, will be released simultaneously in March on a date yet to be specified.

Officers desiring to attend a 10-month course at Fort Leavenworth, or one of the other ILE-equivalent courses conducted by the U.S. military, need to submit a preference statement that can be used by the Army's ILE slating panel.

Officers slated for a 10-month course will attend school in 2014.
