The Army has identified eligibility requirements for special branch officers who want to compete for attendance at an Intermediate Level Education course.

Selections for academic year 2014-15 Military Education Level IV schooling will be made by boards that meet May 6-22 for the Army Medical Department and Chaplain Corps, and Aug. 15-16 for the Judge Advocate General's Corps.

Officers who want to decline consideration can do so by contacting their career management branch.

Officers who are selected for attendance at the 10-month resident ILE course will incur a two-year active-duty service obligation.

Army Medical Department

Officers of the Nurse Corps, Medical Service Corps, Medical Specialist Corps and Veterinary Corps must be in the rank of promotable captain or higher and have less than 14 years of active federal commissioned service on Sept. 30.

Promotable captains and above of the Medical Corps and Dental Corps are eligible through 180 months (15 years) of active federal commissioned service as of Sept. 30.

Officers must be graduates of the Captains Career Course.

Chaplain Corps

Officers must be in the rank of major or promotable captain and have credit for completion of the Captain Career Course.

Officers are not eligible to compete if they have had two previous ILE considerations, or have accepted, been enrolled in, attended or graduated from the Advanced Civilian School program.

Judge Advocate General's Corps

Eligibility criteria for the mid-August board are to be announced this summer in a military personnel message.

Officer evaluation reports submitted for the May 6 board must arrive at Human Resources Command by April 26.

Code 9 complete-the-record reports are authorized for this board. The mandatory "thru date" for such reports is Jan. 26, 2013.

Officers in the zone of consideration can audit the documents in their board packet using the online My Board File system.
