JACKSON, MISS. — The remains of a Mississippi man who disappeared during the Korean War have been returned to his family for burial.

Willard Williams was last seen in November 1950. Relatives often wondered whether he had amnesia and had returned safely from the war.

He was among more than 200 soldiers who disappeared in Korea whose remains have been identified as part of the Army’s effort to bring back and honorably bury troops from conflicts around the world.

Burial is set for Wednesday in a family plot in Lexington, Miss., about 60 miles north of Jackson.

Williams’ age when he died is unclear because he may have been a prisoner of war.
