Officers who want to compete for assignment to colonel-level professor of military science positions that become vacant in 2014 must submit preferences to the Senior Leader Development Office by July 1.
A board will meet Aug. 26-29 at Human Resources Command to select officers for PMS positions for the 2014-15 academic year.
All known colonel-level vacancies through December 2014 will be boarded and slated for reporting dates in the summer of 2014.
Officers who want to compete for selection can self-nominate using the Developmental Opportunities Module application at https://www.srleaders.army.mil/portal2/dom/criticalrequirements.aspx.

To qualify for board consideration, officers must meet these requirements:
■Be a colonel or promotable lieutenant colonel in year group 1987-1991.
■Have a master’s degree or higher as of May 31.
■Have an undergraduate and graduate GPA of at least 2.5.
■Be available for a permanent change-of-station move in 2014; be able to serve a three-year PMS tour, and do not have a mandatory release date earlier than Sept. 1, 2017.
Because of operational considerations, officers in the following specialties are not eligible to compete for PMS duty: Chaplain, Judge Advocate General, Public Affairs, FA 24 (year groups 1987-1991), FA 29, FA 20, FA 34, FA 40, FA 47, FA 48, FA 49, FA 50, FA 51, FA 52, FA 53 (year groups 1987-1991) and FA 59.
