LUMBERTON, N.C. — A Special Forces soldier who lost his legs to a bomb in Afghanistan but returned to the Army is grappling with the loss of his motorcycles and a camper from his parents' North Carolina home.
The Fayetteville Observer reported Monday that Chris Corbin's work with his bomb-detection dog was shown on the CBS show "60 Minutes" in April.
Robeson County investigators say thieves stole two custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles from Corbin's camper parked at his parents' home in Parkton earlier this month. Sheriff's Lt. Brian Duckworth says the crooks then set the camper ablaze.
The property was worth about $80,000.
Corbin lost parts of both legs in early 2011 and now wears prosthetic legs to continue his Special Forces service.
