Coast Guard Sector Charleston changing command

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. — Coast Guard Sector Charleston is getting a new commanding officer.

A change of command ceremony will be held Friday aboard the Yorktown in Charleston Harbor.

During the ceremony, Capt. Michael White will transfer command of the sector to Capt. Ric Rodriguez. Rear Adm. John Korn, the commander of the 7th Coast Guard District, will preside at the ceremony.

Sector Charleston is comprised of Coast Guard activities in both South Carolina and Georgia. It has 11 field units and is comprised of more than 1,600 active-duty, reserve, civilian and auxiliary personnel.
