ATLANTA — An Army sergeant has pleaded guilty to stealing personal information from an Army database.
U.S. District Attorney’s officials said 29-year-old Ammie Brothers of Columbus appeared in court Thursday and faces up to five years in prison. Authorities said she admitted to accessing the database multiple times between April 2009 and October 2011.
Officials said investigators found documents containing victims’ bank account information, employment history and Social Security numbers.
Authorities said Brothers harassed the victims by telephone. She was accused of accessing several credit card accounts that belonged to one victim and authorized charges without their knowledge or consent.
Brothers’ sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 24.
