Brig. Gen. Daniel R. Hokanson on Thursday became adjutant general of the Oregon National Guard.
Hokanson, a 1986 West Point graduate, succeeds Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees, according to a news release from the office of Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber.
Hokanson served on active duty in Air Cavalry, Attack Helicopter and Aircraft Test organizations before he joined the Oregon National Guard, the release said.
Most recently, Hokanson served as director of strategic plans and policy (J-5) at the National Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C., according to the release.
