FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Jury selection continues at Fort Bragg to find Army generals who are suitable jurors for a court-martial of one of their own.
The Fayetteville Observer reported that another 10 generals were questioned Tuesday for potential service at the upcoming trial of Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair. Five were dismissed. Those remaining face additional questions Wednesday.
Those on the jury must be of superior rank to Sinclair, who has pleaded not guilty to charges that include forcible sodomy, indecent acts and violating orders.
With just 230 generals in the Army, it has been difficult to find potential jurors who donít know Sinclair or any of the high-ranking witnesses in the case. At least five are needed to proceed to trial. Two were selected during similar hearings held last month.
