FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Health officials in Cumberland County say a school worker at Fort Bragg may have exposed more than a dozen people to tuberculosis.
The county’s Department of Public Health is investigating the suspected case.
Officials said the employee at Albritton Middle School may have exposed 18 people to the disease between Jan. 1 and May 30.
Officials have not identified the sick person or the 18 people who may have been exposed.
Health Director Buck Wilson said a patient contact investigation indicated there is no need to skin test everyone at the school. Wilson said people who may have been infected have been contacted by the Health Department and will get tuberculosis tests.
Officials said it could take six to eight weeks to confirm the disease.
