Fort Carson soldier killed in Afghanistan

A Green Beret based at Colorado’s Fort Carson was killed Oct. 13 in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Monday.

Staff Sgt. Patrick H. Quinn, 26, of Quarryville, Pa., died of injuries sustained when the enemy attacked his base with small arms fire in Paktika province.

Officials said he died of injuries sustained after “the enemy attacked his base with small arms fire.”

He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, Fort Carson, Colo.

The U.S. Army Special Forces said in a statement that Quinn is survived by his wife and their three sons.
