Officials are investigating after a female Marine was stabbed aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., over the weekend, according to local reports.
NBC San Diego reports that Emily Hammonds was stabbed during an altercation between two Marines on Saturday. Hammond’s rank is unclear, but social media profiles indicate she is from Virginia Beach, Va.
Hammonds is receiving treatment at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. Naval Criminal Investigative Service is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
