The Army has launched a new online, interactive tool to help soldiers stay fit mentally and physically.
ArmyFit was launched by the Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness program. It provides videos, information and other resources based on a soldier’s individual needs.
ArmyFit is linked to the Global Assessment Tool 2.0, which is a survey that helps soldiers identify how they’re doing.
After soldiers complete the GAT 2.0, they can go into ArmyFit to get tailored resources based on their responses on the GAT 2.0 survey.
Using ArmyFit, soldiers can come up with a weight loss plan or a physical training plan. They can learn more about health, fitness and nutrition. The tools in ArmyFit also can help soldiers monitor their sleep patterns and track their activity levels.
One feature, called RealAge, measures a user’s physiological age compared with their actual age by measuring lifestyle, health and fitness, and risk-taking behaviors.
ArmyFit also helps soldiers track their progress or connect with their peers for physical training. Users also can “follow” various communities and organizations on topics ranging from physical fitness to psychological fitness. They can share tips or ask questions, and participate in online challenges.
