Will the ‘70s decadence of “American Hustle” prove too much to resist? How about the ‘90s decadence of “The Wolf of Wall Street”? Can Tom Hanks score gold yet again? Will the deep moral impact of “12 Years a Slave” tweak the consciences of Oscar voters?
If you’ve been wowing your family and friends for years with your prognosticating powers on Hollywood’s biggest night, then the Military Times 2014 Red Carpet Contest is for you.
Check out the rules and electronic ballot, then select one winner in each of the 24 movie awards categories. The ballot with the most correct picks will win $200 in Fandango gift cards. If multiple ballots tie for the top score, one winner will be selected randomly.
The bar was set at a lofty level in our initial contest in 2012, with the winner nailing 20 of 24 categories. Last year’s winner was only slightly less impressive, hitting 19 of 24. The entry deadline for the Military Times 2014 Red Carpet Contest is 3 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on March 2.
The third annual contest is open to active-duty members, National Guard and reserve members, military retirees and family members of all three groups ages 18 or older.
Hollywood’s big night is Sunday, March 2, so get cracking and start handicapping.
