Navy releases results of May courts-martial

The following special and general courts-martial were decided in May, according to a Navy news release issued Friday:

Navy Region Mid-Atlantic

■ At a general court-martial in Norfolk, Virginia, an E-4 was tried for rape, sexual assault and assault consummated by a battery. On May 9, a panel of members returned a verdict of not guilty.

■ At a general court-martial in Norfolk, GSM3 Demetrius Johnson pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contacts. On May 20, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1 and confinement for two years.

■ At a general court-martial in Norfolk, an E-4 was tried for rape and sexual assault. On May 21, a judge returned a verdict of not guilty.

■ At a special court-martial in Norfolk, CS3 Michael Pickard pleaded guilty to larceny. On May 2, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge and confinement for 42 days.

■ At a special court-martial in Norfolk, HM1 Omar Pescador-Montanez was tried for false official statement, damaging nonmilitary property, malingering, self-injury without intent to avoid service, reckless endangerment, and discharging a firearm under such circumstances as to endanger human life. On May 15, a judge returned a verdict of not guilty to false official statement, damaging nonmilitary property and malingering, but guilty to reckless endangerment, self-injury without intent to avoid service, and negligent discharge. The judge sentenced him to reduction in rank to E-5, confinement for 25 days, and 90 days hard labor without confinement.

Navy Region Southeast

■ At a general court-martial in Jacksonville, Florida, ETC Martin Anderson was tried for sexual assault and assault with a loaded firearm. On May 12, a judge returned a verdict of not guilty to assault with a loaded firearm but guilty to sexual assault. The judge sentenced him to be discharged with a dishonorable discharge, reduction in rank to E-4 and confinement for 14 months.

■ At a general court-martial in Jacksonville, MM1 Edward Martin pleaded guilty to stalking, assaults consummated by a battery, cruelty to animals, domestic abuse and communicating a threat. On May 15, a judge sentenced him to a dishonorable discharge, reduction in rank to E-4 and confinement for 28 months.

■ At a general court-martial in Mayport, Florida, MT2 Tyler Schneider pleaded guilty to sexual assault. On May 15, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1 and confinement for a year.

■ At a special court-martial in Jacksonville, ABE2 John Ocampo pleaded guilty to fraudulent separation. On May 6 , a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to paygrade E-1, a fine of $10,000, and confinement for 120 days.

■ At a special court-martial in Jacksonville, ABE2 John Ocampo pleaded guilty to uttering checks without sufficient funds. On May 6, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1 and confinement for 120 days.

Navy Region Northwest

■ At a general court-martial in Bremerton, Washington, an E-4 was tried for sexual assault. On May 1, a judge returned a verdict of not guilty.

■ At a general court-martial in Bremerton, CS2 Daniel Moss pleaded guilty to violating a lawful order and assaults consummated by a battery. On May 2, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1 and confinement for 20 months.

■ At a general court-martial in Bremerton, MA3 Nikolai Baker pleaded guilty to assaults consummated by a battery. On May 20, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1, forfeiture of $1,000 and confinement for 126 days.

■ At a general court-martial in Bremerton, HN Jeremy Lotz pleaded guilty to attempted child sexual abuse, child sexual abuse and sodomy. On May 22, a judge sentenced him to a dishonorable discharge, reduction in rank to E-1, forfeiture of all pay and allowances and confinement for 114 months.

■ At a special court-martial in Bremerton, AD3 Daniko Burrell-Archie pleaded guilty to unauthorized absence, violating a lawful order, false official statements, wrongful drug use and solicitation. On May 2, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1 and confinement for 40 days.

■ At a special court-martial in Bremerton, an E-4 was tried for abusive sexual contact. On May 7, a panel of members returned a verdict of not guilty.

■ At a special court-martial in Bremerton, AOAA Jonathan Johnson-Clayborne pleaded guilty to wrongfully introducing cocaine, wrongfully distributing cocaine and breaking restriction. On May 21, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1 and confinement for 165 days.

■ At a special court-martial in Bremerton, MA2 Erik Ramirez pleaded guilty to larceny, wrongful appropriation and house breaking. On May 23, a judge sentenced him to reduction in rank to E-1, a $500 fine and confinement for 364 days.

■ At a special court-martial in Bremerton, AZ2 Paulin Isidort pleaded guilty to assault consummated by a battery. On May 23, a judge sentenced him to reduction in rank to E-4, forfeiture of $500 a month for two months, a $2,000 fine and confinement for 75 days.

Navy Region Southwest

■ At a general court-martial in San Diego, IT2 Roland Clark Jr. pleaded guilty to attempted wrongful appropriation, wrongful appropriation, bank fraud, and wrongful possession and use of personally identifiable information. On May 16, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for 24 months.

■ At a special court-martial in San Diego, ENFN Aaron Neely pleaded guilty to larceny and wrongful appropriation. On May 5, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, a $1,600 fine and confinement for 45 days.

Navy Region Hawaii

■ At a general court-martial in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, an E-2 was tried for sexual assault. On May 7, a panel of members returned a verdict of not guilty.

Navy Region Japan

■ At a special court-martial in Yokosuka, Japan, SN Marcel Thompson pleaded guilty to hazing and assault. On May 15, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1 and confinement for eight months.

■ At a special court-martial in Yokosuka, SN Matthew Duggan pleaded guilty to hazing and assault. On May 16, a judge sentenced him to a bad conduct discharge, reduction in rank to E-1, forfeiture of $900 pay a month for a year, and confinement for nine months.

Navy Region Europe, Africa, Southwest Asia

■ At a special court-martial in Naples, Italy, MM2 Joe Irby II pleaded guilty to insubordinate conduct toward a petty officer, assault upon a person in the execution of law enforcement duties, resisting apprehension, breach of peace, and drunk and disorderly conduct. On May 7, a judge sentenced him to a reduction in rank to E3, forfeiture of $1,000 a month for two months, and confinement for 45 days.
