A military police soldier was found dead Sunday at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Pfc. Darrell Robinson died from unknown causes, according to a news release from the XVIII Airborne Corps. His death is under investigation by special agents from Army Criminal Investigation Command.

Robinson, 23, was from San Angelo, Texas. He was assigned to the 550th Military Working Dog Detachment, 16th Military Police Brigade.

“We are deeply saddened by this sudden and unexpected loss of our soldier,” said Lt. Col. Caroline Horton, Robinson’s battalion commander, in a statement. “We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Pfc. Robinson.”

Robinson joined the Army in May 2013 and completed one station unit training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

He arrived at the 16th MP Brigade in April 2014.

His awards include the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
