Your future starts at our career fair
Military Times joins forces with CareerBuilder.com in September to bring our readers together with employers on the lookout for military talent.
It takes from a year to 18 months for defense companies to get security clearances for civilians on their staffs, which is why employers line up for military-specific events such as ours.
Career-fair participant ClearanceJobs.com alone represents more than 600 employers with some 12,000 open jobs particularly suited for former military personnel, said the career site’s director, Evan Lesser.
The Military Times-CareerBuilder.com partnership only makes sense, said Kathryn Turner, Military Times classified advertising director.
“CareerBuilder does more than 100 job fairs every year,” Turner said. “They have the expertise.”
Employers will represent industries including defense, aerospace, law enforcement, health care and technology.
The first Military Times/CareerBuilder.com Career Fair is scheduled for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Independence A Ballroom, Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport, 2799 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va.
This event is open only to current or former military personnel.
Employers interested in participating should call Kathryn Turner, Army Times Publishing Co. classified advertising director, at (703) 658-8351.
Job seekers who can’t make it to the career fair should fax their résumés to (703) 436-1306.
