Smart video résumés
More employers are willing to watch video résumés these days, so if you’re brave enough to go out on a limb and give the new résumé genre a shot, it could make the difference in your job hunt. But even in the new format, old job-search rules still apply. Consider the following advice:
Know the industry and employer you’re applying to. Some are more likely to approve of video résumés than others.
Be professional — in your appearance and behavior.
Use a clutter-free background.
Make sure the lighting and sound are good.
Include the same information you would in a paper résumé.
If you’re not happy with the first one you shoot, do it over.
