DANGEROUS KIM JONG-IL
You honestly believe that Kim Jong-Il really cares if his country’s people get wiped off the face of the earth? The only thing Kim cares about is going out with a bang. Just like terrorists, he wants to make sure that the last thing he does is kill as many Westerners as possible. He’s basically that guy with the “short man syndrome.”

COMMISSARY COMPARISON
We shop around for whatever we need. Some items like paper products and meat are cheaper at the commissary while produce and other stuff are comparable at the market.

MENTOR YOUNG SOLDIERS
Our younger soldiers have lost their moral pathway with regards to doing the right thing. This is not a failure of the soldier, it is a failure in leadership. We demand so much of our soldiers, but we don’t give them the tools or the time to master their skills before we take them off on another tangent. Just because you have advanced to E-5/E-6/E-7 does not make you right. You have to be right. Rank does not give you an excuse to “retire on active duty,” rather it should make you aware of your duty to be there, on the ground, awaiting your soldiers. Rank should motivate you to listen to your soldier, counsel your soldier, mentor your soldier.

SERVICEWIDE SMOKING BAN
You can throw all the numbers and figures you want to, but the fact is, you are taking away someone’s rights as a U.S. citizen. Yes, we are held to a higher standard and rightfully so, but this is starting to go too far.
I recently quit smoking, but that was my choice and it will only work if it is someone’s choice. This entire movement just seems to be spiraling out of control.

Smoking is fun? And a right as a U.S. citizen? I must have missed the “smoking amendment” in the Constitution. Not saying I agree with a ban, but it is interesting from a budgetary standpoint.
Just like part of the rationalization for having a physical training program. Smoking and being out of shape costs a [load] of taxpayer dollars as a result of poor choices made by the individual.

If a smoke helps someone unwind and handle the stress they have encountered, then the military ought to be giving them to the guy for free.
