Out of troops?
Just to be clear, the president will never run out of troops for anything. If he wants to take soldiers who have just returned from a 15-month tour in Iraq and only been home for two weeks to send to Afghanistan, he will. Stop-loss, involuntary recalls and just plain old non-stop deployments will continue to be in effect and will destroy our all-volunteer military all for the sake of avoiding a very necessary draft.

RELIGION IN UNIFORM
There is no question that most religious beliefs should be allowed to be practiced in the military. However, no religion should receive top billing or appear to be sponsored by the military. There should be no overt recruitment to any particular religion, nor should senior military officials impose their beliefs on those who are subordinate. The solution? Keep religion in the chapel and with (and essentially within) each individual.

DRESS BLUES
Oh man, when will this madness stop? First, [Gen. Eric] Shinseki plopped Iraqi-looking black beanies on every head in the Army, taking away an elite piece of Ranger history — and now, they want to merge our dress and gala uniforms? Someone has to find out how many of these fools at “Puzzle Palace” (Pentagon) level are drinking from contaminated water sources.
