All for military readers, just out this spring:
Bombs Away! The World War II Bombing Campaigns Over Europe by John R. Bruning, Zenith Press, 336 pages, 450 photographs, $50. Nicely designed coffee-table book, the fourth in a series, with rarely seen color photos.
The Crimean War, a History by Orlando Figes, Henry Holt and Co., 608 pages, $35 for hardback, $16.99 e-book. The Turkish-British-Russian-French war saw the Light Brigade, Florence Nightingale and the deaths of a million soldiers.

Hearts Touched by Fire: the Best of Battles and Leaders of the Civil War edited by Harold Holzer, Modern Library, 1,192 pages, $35. The original 1883 four-volume collection of firsthand accounts by battle leaders is a mere thousand pages in this version by one of the authors of last winter’s “The New York Times Complete Civil War, 1861-1865.”
