Health care award panel accepts nominations

Cherokee Uniforms, a leading designer and manufacturer of work clothing for health care professionals, is accepting nominations for its sixth annual Cherokee Inspired Comfort Awards.

The awards program is meant to recognize the service, sacrifice and innovation of outstanding nurses and other nonphysician health care professionals, including those in the armed forces.

Nominations are being accepted through May 31 for this year’s award program. To nominate a health care professional, visit the Web site or pick up a nomination form from a Cherokee Uniforms retailer.

Candidates may be nominated in two of the following categories but can only win in one: Registered Nurses (RNs); Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs); Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs); students enrolled in nursing school; and other nonphysician health care professionals.

The grand prize winner in each category will receive an all-expenses-paid Caribbean cruise for two. Additional winners in each category will receive all-expenses-paid trips to a 2008 U.S. medical conference of their choice, an annual membership to their preferred clinical association and a donation of $500 to the nonprofit organization of their choice.

Winners will be announced in September.
