Army IDs pilots killed in helicopter crash

The three Fort Campbell, Ky., soldiers killed when their helicopter crashed during a training flight in Alabama were identified Thursday.
Capt. Scott Shimp, 28, CW 2 David Stanley, 33, and Sgt. Jeffrey Scott Angel II, 24, died when their UH-60 Black Hawk crashed about 7 p.m. Tuesday near Skyline, Ala.
The helicopter was flying from Fort Campbell to the Chattanooga Municipal Airport in Tennessee.
They belonged to C Company, 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division.
Shimp, of Bayard, Neb., was a Black Hawk pilot and the company commander. He is survived by his parents.
Stanley, a pilot from Fort Rucker, Ala., is survived by his wife, son and stepson, and his parents.
Angel, of Gauley Bridge, W.Va., was a Black Hawk helicopter repairer. He leaves behind a wife and daughter, and his parents.
A memorial ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Fort Campbell Passenger Processing Center.
The accident is under investigation.
The crash site is about 190 miles southeast of Fort Campbell.
