Free Tricare advice for Southern Region
Posted : Thursday Jan 17, 2008 14:51:10 EST
Active-duty, National Guard and reserve members in Tricare’s Southern Region now have access to a new advocacy unit that can help them navigate the military health system, the Department of Affairs health system and local community-based health care assets.
The new program, sponsored by Tricare’s Southern Region contractor, Humana Military Healthcare Services, offers free advice about finding a doctor, using the prescription-drug program or figuring out the Tricare co-pay system, VA health care programs and more.
The new program covers South Carolina, George, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and most of Texas. Service members in transition and their families in those states can call (888) 4GO-WNAP to reach a “multi-disciplinary team who will assist … in problem-solving and other needed medical or community resources,” Humana officials said.
