Two Iowa Army National Guard units will be welcomed home from their deployments to Iraq during separate ceremonies on April 30.
The 120 soldiers from Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry Regiment, will be honored in Denison. The unit previously deployed to Afghanistan from February 2004 to June 2005.
Ceremonies for soldiers from Alpha Troop, 1st Squadron, 113th Cavalry, are scheduled for Camp Dodge in Johnston and Sioux City. Those soldiers, about 120 of them, performed reconnaissance and surveillance missions. The unit last deployed to Kosovo from September 2003 to September 2004.
Both groups of soldiers were mobilized in May 2007, and they trained at Camp Shelby, Miss., before deploying to Baghdad.
