Fort Lee to get new commander
Posted : Monday Jul 21, 2008 7:05:55 EDT
PETERSBURG, Va. — For the first time in nearly three years, Fort Lee will have a new commander.
Col. Michael G. Morrow will take over command of the Virginia garrison from Col. Gwen Bingham in a ceremony to be held at the Lee Club on Friday.
Morrow’s most recent assignment was as a student at the Air War College in Alabama. Before that, he served with the U.S. Army Human Resource Command in Alexandria.
Bingham has been the garrison commander for nearly three years. She has been instrumental in overseeing changes at the base that came from the recommendations of the 2005 Base Closure and Realignment Commission.
