About 88 soldiers from the Kansas National Guard’s 35th Infantry Division will be welcomed home Thursday from a deployment to Kosovo.
The soldiers, who are undergoing the demobilization process at Camp Atterbury, Ind., make up the second group of 35th Infantry Division soldiers returning from this deployment. The first group returned Sunday.
About 150 soldiers from the division deployed in July 2007 to become the headquarters unit for Task Force Falcon, a multinational peacekeeping force. The soldiers took control of operations in the theater’s Multi-National Task Force-East in November 2007 at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo.
The task force included about 1,500 soldiers from the active Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve.
