The Army Reserve and the Metropolitan Police Department will launch an employer partnership during a signing ceremony Monday that will allow both organizations to recruit, train and employ applicants interested in being in the Reserve while serving as police officers in Washington, D.C.
This is the latest employer partnership the Reserve has built in key areas such as law enforcement, truck driving and health care in an effort to attract qualified and competitive recruits and gain support from employers.
The Metropolitan Police Department will be the first law enforcement agency in the country to join the Reserve's Employer Partnership Initiative.
Lt. Gen. Jack Stultz, chief of the Army Reserve, Command Sgt. Maj. Leon Caffie, command sergeant major of the Reserve, Police Chief Cathy Lanier and Assistant Chief Joshua Ederheimer will attend the signing ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Metropolitan Police Academy in southwest D.C., along with Army Reserve soldiers currently serving with the police department.
