When Sen. Barack Obama’s jet touched down at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., on Sunday night, it marked Obama’s first arrival there as president-elect.

Rather than flying on a chartered commercial jet, Obama was flown by an Air Force crew onboard a C-32A, the Air Force version of a Boeing 757. The jet is equipped with a private suite and seating for 45 passengers. It is typically used for flights by the vice president, first lady and cabinet-level officials on overseas missions.

Onboard the plane, Obama met with Col. Scott Turner, the flight aircraft commander and lead pilot for Air Force One, according to press pool accounts of the flight.
