4 Riley soldiers arrested on burglary charges

FORT RILEY, Kan. — Four 1st Infantry Division soldiers are being held on charges in an alleged burglary at knifepoint off post.
The incident occurred early Friday at a Junction City home near Fort Riley.
A Fort Riley spokesman said the soldiers allegedly broke into the home and held a family at knifepoint during the burglary. One of the victims called police using a cell phone.
The soldiers were arrested at the home without incident as they tried to leave the house.
Arrested were 21-year-old Pvt. Joshua D. McGatha, of Glencoe, Ala.; 19-year-old Pvt. Romale Pope, of Lanham, Md.; 21-year-old Pvt. Jeremy Harris, of Chicago, and 20-year-old Pvt. Teandre Thompkins, of Savannah, Ga.
The four are charged with aggravated burglary, kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft and criminal threats.
They are with the rear detachment of the 2nd Brigade, which stayed on post while the rest of the unit deployed to Iraq.
