General assignments announced

Army Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey announced the assignment of the following 11 officers:
Maj. Gen. John M. Custer, commander and commandant of the Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca, Fort Huachuca, Ariz., will become commander of U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command at Fort Belvoir, Va.
Maj. Gen. Mark A. Graham, commander of First Army Division West and Fort Carson, Fort Carson, Colo., will become deputy chief of staff, G-3/5/7 for Forces Command at Fort McPherson, Ga.
Maj. Gen. David D. Halverson, director of force development, office of the deputy chief of staff, G-8, in Washington, will become commander of the Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill at Fort Sill, Okla.
Maj. Gen. Theodore C. Nicholas, director for operations for the Defense Joint Intelligence Operations Center, Defense Intelligence Agency, in Washington, will become deputy chief of staff for intelligence under Multi-National Force-Iraq, Iraq.
Maj. Gen. Richard J. Rowe Jr., commander of the Army Military District of Washington and commander of Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region in Washington, will become deputy commanding general in the Department of Interior Affairs of Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq in Iraq.
Maj. Gen. Peter M. Vangjel, commander of the Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill at Fort Sill, Okla., will become deputy commanding general of Third Army/United States Army Central.
Brig. Gen. Karl R. Horst, director for operations, plans, logistics and engineering, J-3/4, at the Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Va., will become commanding general of the Army Military District of Washington and commander of Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region, Washington.
Brig. Gen. Reuben D. Jones, the adjutant general and commanding general of Physical Disability Agency and Executive Director of Military Postal Service Agency, Alexandria, Va., will become Commanding General of the Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command in Alexandria, Va.
Brig. Gen. Mary A. Legere, deputy chief of staff for intelligence for Multi-National Force-Iraq in Iraq will become commanding genera and commandant of the Army Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
Brig. Gen. Richard P. Mustion, commander of the Army Soldier Support Institute, Fort Jackson, S.C., will become the adjutant general and commanding general of the Physical Disability Agency and executive director of the Military Postal Service Agency, Alexandria, Va.
Brig. Gen. Thomas W. Spoehr, director of integration, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, in Washington, D.C., will become director of force development, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, in Washington.
