Officer promotion update: June 2009

Colonel

Army Category: Promotions off the 2008 Army Competitive Category lists began in January. They are distributed by the functional groups (Maneuver, Fires and Effects; Operational Support, and Force Sustainment) of the Officer Personnel Management System. The 2009 board meets July 7-24.

JAG Corps: May promotions completed the 2008 list. The 2009 board meets Aug. 11-13.

Chaplain Corps: June promotions will come from the 2008 list. The 2009 board meets June 2-4.

Medical Corps: The 2007 list is being used for promotions.

Dental Corps: The 2007 list is being used for promotions.

Medical Service Corps: The 2008 list is being used for promotions.

Medical Specialist Corps: January promotions completed the 2008 list. The 2009 board meets July 7-14.

Veterinary Corps: April promotions completed the 2008 list. The 2009 board meets July 7-14.

Nurse Corps: Promotions are being made from the 2008 list.

Lieutenant colonel

Army Category: Promotions will be made from the 2008 lists, and distributed by the three functional categories of the revised Officer Personnel Management System. The 2009 board met in March, and the list is pending release and Senate confirmation.

JAG Corps: Results of the 2008 board were released Nov. 13 and are pending Senate confirmation.

Chaplain Corps: The 2009 board meets Aug. 18-21.

Medical Corps: Promotions will be made from the 2008 list. The 2009 board met in February, and the listing is pending release and Senate confirmation.

Dental Corps: Promotions will be made from the 2008 list. The 2009 board met in February, and the listing is pending release and Senate confirmation.

Medical Service Corps: New list compiled by board that met in March is pending release.

Medical Specialist Corps: New list compiled by a board that met in March is pending release.

Veterinary Corps: New list compiled by a board that met in March is pending release.

Army Category: April promotions complete the 2008 lists for the ACC category. The 2009 board adjourned in February, and new selection lists are pending release and Senate confirmation.
