A selection list containing the names of National Guard and Army Reserve officers recommended for promotion to major will be released July 9.

The basic-branch officers, most with captain dates of rank of Sept. 1, 2002 through Aug. 31, 2003, were selected for advancement by a board that met in St. Louis during March.

Competitive categories for the annual Army Promotion List board included Army National Guard officers, Army Reserve officers of the Active Guard and Reserve program, and non-AGR Army Reserve officers.

Army Reserve captains with dates of rank of Sept. 1, 2003 through Aug. 31, 2004 were eligible for below-zone consideration. As is normal, there was no BZ category for National Guard officers.
