ANNISTON, Ala. — National Guardsmen at the Alabama Military Academy in Anniston aren’t lining up to see the new movie “Bruno,” even though the academy is featured in trailers for the comedy.
Lt. Col. Cindy Bachus said filmmaker Sacha Baron Cohen and his crew portrayed themselves as a German TV news crew. She said there is nothing amusing about the deception. The director of the McClellan Training Center, Col. Chuch Keith, calls “Bruno” a “non-event.” Like others, he said he has no plans to buy a ticket.
Cohen and a film crew visited the academy at Anniston’s Fort McClellan on Feb. 13.
