Multiple officer selection lists coming in July

Several selection lists containing the names of active and reserve officers recommended for promotion to the chief warrant officer ranks, major and lieutenant colonel will be released in the coming weeks.

There are two active component lists as follows:

• Results of the annual Medical Corps and Dental Corps major board that met in March will be released July 8.

• The annual Army Competitive Category lieutenant colonel list, compiled by a board that met in February and March, will be released July 14.

Promotions off the new lists are expected to begin soon after Senate confirmation, as only a few names remain on the 2008 lists for these categories.

The reserve lists, which are expected to contain the names of several hundred National Guard and Army Reserve officers, will be released as follows:

• Results of the annual Army Promotion List major board are slated for release July 9.

• Lists containing the names of Guard and Reserve officers recommended for promotion to CW3, CW4 and CW5 will be released July 16.

The reserve component lists do not require Senate confirmation and promotions can begin as soon as scheduled by the Guard and Reserve.
