Officer promotion update: September

Colonel
Army Category
Promotions off the 2008 Army Competitive Category lists began in January. They are distributed by the functional groups (Maneuver, Fires and Effects; Operational Support, and Force Sustainment) of the Officer Personnel Management System. The 2009 board met in July, and the selection lists are pending release.
JAG Corps
May promotions completed the 2008 list. The 2009 board met Aug. 11-13.
Chaplain Corps
The 2008 list is being used for promotions. The 2009 board met June 2-4. The list is pending release and Senate confirmation.
Medical Corps
September promotions will complete the 2007 list.
Dental Corps
September promotions will complete the 2007 list.
Medical Service Corps
The 2008 list is being used for promotions.
Medical Specialist Corps
January promotions completed the 2008 list. The 2009 board met July 7-14, and the list is pending release and Senate confirmation.
Veterinary Corps
April promotions completed the 2008 list. The 2009 board met July 7-14, and the list is pending release and Senate confirmation.
Nurse Corps
September promotions will complete the 2008 list.
Lieutenant Colonel

A new list containing 39 names is pending Senate confirmation.
