BRAINERD, Minn. — Relatives of troops who have died since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks are finishing a weekend retreat on Sunday.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty is scheduled to speak at a breakfast at the Gold Star Retreat in Brainerd.
The event is bringing together parents, spouses, children and survivors of fallen members of the military services. It's part of the Minnesota National Guard's "Beyond the Yellow Ribbon" reintegration program and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
The gathering includes workshops on bereavement and coping skills for survivors, information on benefits and resources to help them, social events and activities.
