Officer Service Management Pilot Program application deadline extended

Staff report
Posted : Saturday Nov 14, 2009 14:22:05 EST

The application window for the inaugural Officer Service Management Pilot Program panel that meets in February will remain open until Dec. 30.

Army Competitive Category officers who want to apply for a transfer have until that date to submit a request with supporting documentation to the Officer Leader Development Division of Human Resources Command.

The zone of eligibility includes ACC captains and promotable captains with less than nine years and one day of active federal commissioned service, and majors with less than 15 years of service.

Captains who meet the year group and specialty requirements can apply for transfer to a branch or functional area, while majors can only apply for transfer to a functional area.

The February panel also will serve as a one-time appeal board for officers whose files went before the year group 2002 functional designation board that met in September.

The results of that board are slated to be released in mid-November.

Officers whose appeals are approved by the February panel will not incur the two-year service obligation required of officers who participate in the OSMPP.
