BISMARCK, N.D. — Gov. John Hoeven and North Dakota National Guard commander Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk are visiting a contingent of North Dakota soldiers in Kosovo this week.
The 620 soldiers are part of a multinational force of about 2,200 troops. They’re commanded by North Dakota National Guard Brig. Gen. Alan Dohrmann. The force includes soldiers from five other countries.
The North Dakota soldiers are serving in Kosovo as part of a yearlong peacekeeping mission. A Guard spokesman, Lt. Col. Rick Smith, says the deployment is half over.
