Officers named for leadership award
Posted : Monday Mar 15, 2010 15:48:40 EDT
Twenty-eight company-grade officers of the active Army, National Guard and Army Reserve have been named winners of the 2009 Gen. Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award Competition.
The officers each will receive a 15-pound bronze bust of MacArthur at a Pentagon ceremony to be hosted by Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey in early May.
The annual award recognizes the officers for demonstrating exceptional leadership in 2009, and for epitomizing the ideals of duty, honor and country that were the focus of MacArthur’s farewell address at the U.S. Military Academy in 1962.
