The Defense Department has identified two Fort Stewart soldiers who were killed in Iraq earlier this week.
The DoD said Saturday that 1st Lt. Robert W. Collins and Pfc. William A. Blount died in Mosul, Iraq, on Wednesday when enemy forces attacked their vehicle with an improvised explosive device.
Both soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Stewart.
Collins graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 2004 and West Point Military Academy in 2008. He was engaged to be married, according to the Fayette County Citizen.
