With physical fitness and weight standards "under close scrutiny,” some Marines and sailors are taking drastic action — using liposuction, laxatives and starvation diets in order to meet weight and size requirements.
Are soldiers doing the same thing to help get them in shape, to make sure they pass the waist measurement component of the test? Do commanders know soldiers are putting their health on the line? Do they care?
